Job description

Class Teacher

Contract: Maternity Leave cover

Contract Length: 1st September 2025 to 31st May 2026

M1 – M6 depending on experience

We are looking for a part time Class Teacher for three days per week (0.6) for a fixed term, maternity leave cover contract from 1st September 2025. The working days will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The successful candidate should be, or aspire to be, an outstanding teacher. We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience of teaching in either KS1 and/or KS2 although ECTs are welcome to apply
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • A good understanding of how children learn
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
  • Ability to implement effective intervention strategies and to target children’s learning
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
  • Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning.
