Job summary

St Edmundsbury CofE Primary Academy in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a committed class teacher to join our Church of England school from 1 January 2027. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to lead curriculum subjects depending on strengths.

Experience of teaching both KS1 and KS2 is desirable; we value a child-centred curriculum and a collaborative approach. The school offers a supportive team, extensive CPD, and opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with QTS and experience in primary education.
  • Experience across KS1 and KS2 desirable and ability to lead curriculum areas.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons for a class of primary pupils.
  • Contribute to developing and leading curriculum subjects as required.
  • Participate in school CPD and whole-school improvement initiatives.
  • Promote safeguarding and support the welfare of all children.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community as needed.

St Edmundsbury C of E Primary Academy is part of Elveden Schools Trust and the only Church of England Primary in Bury St Edmunds. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. We are seeking a committed teacher, with a passion for a child-centred curriculum, to continue this approach and develop our provision further.

We are seeking to appoint a full-time, class teacher from 1st January 2027. There will also be the opportunity to lead curriculum subjects and this will depend on the successful candidates' particular areas of expertise, as well as the needs of the school. Experience of teaching KS1 and 2 is desirable, as is a good knowledge of the curriculum.
