Job summary

The Woodlands School in Milton Keynes is seeking a dedicated Class Teacher for KS3 on a 3 day per week fixed-term basis until 21 February 2026, starting ASAP. The post offers MPS/UPS plus a SEN allowance. This role is based at our Hazeley campus.

You will inspire students with ASD and communication difficulties, delivering engaging lessons, prioritising safeguarding and high achievement for every child.

Qualifications

• Outstanding classroom teacher with a commitment to welfare and safeguarding.
• Experience of teaching students with autism spectrum or related needs is desirable.
• Willingness to participate in safeguarding and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging KS3 lessons in a special school setting.
• Contribute to a supportive learning environment for Students with ASD and related needs.

The Woodlands School is an all age (Reception to Year 14) special school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties with associated learning difficulties, operating across 3 Campuses in Milton Keynes. All the students have Educational, Health and Care Plans.

Key to the role will be learning what engages each student, how they learn and how they are motivated, channeling these factors into how you teach each subject, so that every student gets the most out of every day. You will inspire your students to enjoy a range of subjects, bringing each lesson to life, engaging them in a love of learning.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher, who is dedicated to the welfare, safeguarding and achievement of every child; who wants to make a difference and knows the pathway that will allow students to do so. The vacancy will be within our KS3 department at our Hazeley campus.

If you have not worked in SEN before, but are enthusiastic and motivated to make the move, we will give you additional training and provide support.
