Harris Primary Academy Shortlands, part of the Harris Federation, invites applicants for a Class Teacher post. The role focuses on delivering the National Curriculum to primary pupils, assessing progress, and contributing to academy life.

QTS or equivalent and an undergraduate degree are required; visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates will participate in professional development through the Harris Institute of Teaching and Leadership and are expected to uphold high standards of teaching

Class Teacher post at Harris Primary Academy Shortlands, part of the Harris Federation. The role centres on planning and teaching the National Curriculum to primary-age pupils, assessing and reporting on their progress, and contributing to the wider life of the academy. Teachers are expected to take part in professional development through the Harris Institute of Teaching and Leadership. Experience

• Successful experience of teaching the primary curriculum

Skills & knowledge

• Current theory and best practice in teaching and learning, particularly for high progress of primary-age children
• Good subject knowledge of the core National Curriculum
• Understanding of child development and progression and how it affects planning
• Effective strategies for managing behaviour in line with school policy
• Understanding of equal opportunities issues and how to address them in schools
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
