This permanent class teacher post at St Martin at Shouldham Church of England Primary Academy, one of Grace Schools' 38 primary academies, is a 40% role across Thursdays and Fridays. The work centres on planning and teaching lessons within a knowledge-rich curriculum, assessing and reporting on pupils' progress, and guiding colleagues. Working in a church school means aligning practice to the Grace Schools Principles of Education. Qualified Teacher Status is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.

What the job involves

• Plan and teach lessons and sequences of lessons to assigned classes within the academy's knowledge-rich curriculum
• Assess, monitor, record and report on assigned pupils' learning needs, progress and achievements, adapting practice to secure the best outcomes
• Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working with staff, parents and other agencies in line with the Grace Schools Principles of Education
• Act as a role model, setting high standards of teaching and high expectations across the school community
• Maintain the highest expectations for all children

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent
• Qualified Teacher Status

Experience

• Experience working as a class teacher in a primary school setting

Skills & knowledge

• Alignment to the Grace Schools Principles of Education
• Knowledge of strategies to support learning, progress and standards across the curriculum, with evidence of impact on progress
• Understanding of the principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning
• Effective relationships with colleagues, parents, carers and the community
