Job summary

Pathfinder CofE Primary School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for maternity cover. The role supports teachers and pupils in class, helping children follow instructions and work independently, and preparing learning resources.

It is a part-time position delivering 19.5 hours across Tuesday to Thursday over 39 weeks per year. The successful candidate will work within Grace Schools and contribute to an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (4/C) or above or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent.
• Experience working with children and/or as a Teaching Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in teaching and learning, providing general and specific help to pupils and staff.
• Help pupils understand instructions and support independent learning and inclusion.
• Build productive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
• Support each pupil consistently, recognizing and responding to individual needs.
• Encourage pupils to interact and cooperate with others and engage all pupils in activities.
• Prepare appropriate learning environments and resources.

Job description

Maternity cover for a Teaching Assistant at Pathfinder CofE Primary School, one of the 38 primary academies in Grace Schools. The post centres on supporting teachers and pupils in class, helping children follow instructions and work independently, and preparing learning resources. It is a part-time role of 19.5 hours across Tuesday to Thursday, worked over 39 weeks of the year. Visa sponsorship is not available.
