Job summary

Marlow Church of England Infant School in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a Class Teacher on a 0.4 FTE, fixed-term maternity cover for Mondays and Tuesdays starting 1 January 2027. The role is within the Main Pay Scale Points 1-6 with actual salary £13,627 – £18,776 pro rata.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, maintain high expectations, and foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment, working with colleagues, support staff, and families to support every pupil's progress.

The School

Marlow Church of England Infant School (Marlow CofE), locally known as Sandygate, is a mixed-gender primary school. The school provides specialist early education for children aged 4 to 7 years old (Reception through to Year 2) across two forms of entry.

Marlow CofE School is part of the Marlow Education Trust (MET), which is a Multi-Academy Trust committed to excellence in education, ensuring the highest possible quality of education for all children in our community. The MET was founded to support education in schools in the local community in and around Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

The Role

The successful candidate, will have strong subject knowledge, high expectations for all pupils, and the ability to create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment. You will work closely with colleagues, support staff, and families to provide an engaging, inclusive learning environment where all pupils thrive both academically and personally.

  • Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position
  • Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of pupils
  • Act within, the statutory frameworks, which set out their professional duties and responsibilities and in line with the duties outlined in the current School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document and Teacher Standards (2012)
  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
