Job description

Working Pattern: Full Time or Part Time.

Application Deadline:9am Monday 16th November 2026

St Mark’s Church of England Primary School is a welcoming small family school with a strong Christian ethos, a sense of community and a commitment to excellence for all children in our care. We believe that we are an extension of the local community and believe that your child has a unique contribution to make, and we shall all find much to discover, share and enjoy together during their time with us.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at St Mark’s Church of England Aided Primary School. We are seeking a proactive individual to provide an excellent level of support to both staff and students in the school.

We are looking for someone who is an exceptional class teacher, a strong team player with high expectations of all, who is committed to supporting all children to succeed.

Applications from Early Career Teachers are warmly received. The school offers an excellent ECT induction programme and has a proven record of developing outstanding teachers, many of whom have continued their career development into year leader roles within our setting. As an ECT, you would join our ECT induction programme, supported by all our staff, and a dedicated mentor. Our ECT programme provides the bridge between Initial Teacher Training and a successful teaching career.

How we invest in supporting and developing our staff at St Mark’s:
  • Dedicated time for continual professional development for all staff including in-house weekly CPD for teachers and LSAs;
  • Support staff invited to attend teacher meetings;
  • Opportunities to work alongside staff from the other Academies within the Trust;
  • Regular coaching sessions for teachers and LSAs.

Do not feel that you should have a Christian faith to be part of our team as we welcome all applications.

Our outstanding Leadership Team supports all teachers and support staff to develop and excel.

A Centre of Excellence

Learning is a lifelong journey and we at St Mark’s feel privileged to be able to guide and shape our children along the pathway to success. We believe that learning should be an exciting endeavour providing purposeful experiences which motivate and challenge our children from when they join us at four until they leave at eleven, as confident and competent individuals who believe in themselves and are ready to excel.

To be a successful learner our children need to work both on their own and with others, think for themselves, be confident to explore new ideas whilst appreciating the wonder of our world. It is these values that drive our curriculum and they are developed progressively over the seven years of primary education.
