Job summary

St James Daisy Hill CE Primary School is seeking a part-time Year 1 Class Teacher to cover maternity leave. The role is three days per week (Mon–Wed) and starts on 22 February 2027 for one year, under the UK teacher pay scale.

The successful candidate will lead effective teaching and learning in Year 1, work with the key stage team to raise standards, and support safeguarding and school policies. ECTs will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in Reception or KS1 is essential.
• ECTs will be considered for the position.
• Part-time commitment for 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective teaching and learning in Year 1.
• Contribute to raising standards within the class and key stage team.
• Attend year group planning and safeguarding requirements.

We are looking to recruit a temporary part-time enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join St James for a maternity leave in Year 1. The working days will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for providing effective teaching and learning and contribute to raising standards in their class and their key stage team. Experience of teaching in Reception or Key Stage 1 is essential. ECTs will be considered.

The contract will commence from 22nd February 2027 for one year.
