About the Role

Connex Education is working with a friendly and community-focused primary school in the Colchester area to recruit a dedicated KS1 or KS2 Class Teacher for a long-term supply role starting in September 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum for KS1 or KS2
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to ongoing assessment and reporting
• Work collaboratively with support staff, colleagues, and parents/carers to ensure pupil needs are met
• Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and learning across the class

Assignment Details

• Full-time, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
• Long-term supply role for the full academic year, with the potential for extension

Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Experience teaching in KS1 or KS2
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
• A flexible and proactive approach to classroom management and planning
• A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex
