Job summary

Fordwater School in Chichester is seeking a passionate Class Teacher to join our team. We care for pupils aged 2–19 with severe learning difficulties, PMLD and complex autism, and we value connection, creativity and collaborative practice.

From Spring 2027, with flexibility for an earlier start date. This is a Full Time role; part-time requests will be considered, and an SEN allowance is provided. We welcome experienced SEND teachers and those transitioning from mainstream education.

Qualifications

  • We welcome experienced SEND teachers or adaptable mainstream teachers moving into special education.
  • Experience with complex autism or commitment to developing this skill.
  • Ability to personalise learning with a warm, attuned approach.
  • Strong teamwork and commitment to Growth & Development Pathway (GDP).

Responsibilities

  • You will plan and deliver lessons for pupils with SLD, PMLD and complex autism.
  • Support regulation and communication through personalised learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Engage in GDP activities and contribute to school-wide development.
