Job summary

FCC Environment is recruiting a Class 2 Refuse Driver to join the team in Tees Valley. The role involves safe operation of a Class 2 vehicle, daily vehicle checks, and assisting with loading while delivering a reliable service to the community.

The position is 45 hours per week with potential overtime and a starting rate of £14.49 per hour, rising to £21.73 overtime after 45 hours. The company offers a pension, training, and benefits as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• A valid Class 2 (category C) licence.
• Digital Tachograph card preferred.
• Previous driving experience (waste industry desirable).
• Good knowledge of driver hours and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a Class 2 vehicle.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Support the collection and loading of waste and recycling.
• Complete designated rounds in line with schedules.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.

About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Refuse Driver to join our team in this key frontline role, responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling across the local area. Working as part of a crew, you will operate a Class 2 vehicle, complete scheduled rounds, carry out daily vehicle checks and support with loading when required, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures while delivering a reliable and professional service to the community. The role is contracted to 40 hours per week; however, the nature of the position requires a flexible approach to working hours, and regular overtime may be necessary.
