Job summary

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is seeking Class 2 Refuse Drivers for immediate starts in Ilkeston to work for a well known waste‑collection client in the local area. You will drive a refuse wagon and, if required, help loaders with loading materials, delivering a reliable service to residents.

Shifts run 06:00 to 14:00 and finish when the task is complete; overtime paid at a premium. Full PPE provided. Immediate starts for the right candidate with the potential for permanent work.

Qualifications

• Category C licence, CPC and a digital tachograph card required.
• Previous experience driving a refuse wagon is desirable but not essential.
• Available for induction this week and next and able to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Drive a refuse wagon around the local area to collect household waste, recycling and garden waste.
• Assist loaders with loading when needed.
• Work Monday to Friday with overtime paid at a premium rate.

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for Class 2 Refuse Drivers for immediate starts in the Ilkeston to work for a well known waste‑collection client in the local area.

About the client

This client has over 50,000 households that they provide a number of services to which includes collecting household waste, recycling and garden waste. Whilst being classed as a key worker you will be interacting as part of the local authority team to ensure the residents get the services that they not only pay for but also to the high standard that they expect.

Highlights

• £14.59 per hour (overtime paid at premium rate)
• Working task until finish (paid for a full day but finish when the work is done)
• Stable day shifts 06.00-14.00 approximately (work until task finish)
• Temporary ongoing work that is not just seasonal that could become permanent for the right candidate
• Immediate starts
• Full PPE provided

Job Role

• Driving around the local area to collect household waste, household recycling and garden waste. Although role is predominantly driving if short staffed Driver will be required to get out of the cab to help loaders load the vehicle with collection material.
• Monday to Friday (Bank holidays and overtime paid at a premium rate)
• You will also be required to help the team load the vehicle

What we need from you

• Applicants must have a Category C licence, CPC and a digital tachograph card
• Previous experience in driving a refuse wagon is desirable however not essential
• Available for an induction this week and next
