Job summary

Driver Hire Inverness is looking for a full-time HGV Class 2 driver based in Inverness. The role involves sharing longer-distance runs with a partner, performing Driver’s Mate duties when not driving, and assisting with loading and unloading deliveries.

An immediate start is available, with early starts and a Monday–Friday schedule. The position is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, with PAYE pay at £16.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (HGV) Licence.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points (No DR, TT or IN convictions)

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 2 vehicles in Highland and Aberdeenshire area.
• Share driving responsibilities 50/50 with the other driver.
• Work as a Drivers Mate when not driving and assist with loading/unloading deliveries.
• Carry out manual handling and ensure loads are secure.
• Complete relevant vehicle and delivery paperwork and perform daily vehicle checks.
• Follow drivers' hours, Working Time and road safety regulations.

We have an excellent opportunity for an HGV Driver looking for full-time, Monday to Friday work in Inverness, this is offered on a temp to permanent position.

You’ll work alongside another driver on longer-distance runs, sharing the driving approximately 50/50. The role also includes Drivers Mate duties and manual handling, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to get involved and isn’t looking for a driving-only position. £16.80 per hour, Early starts and no weekends and an immediate start available.

Typical Duties May Include:

• Driving Class 2 vehicles within the Highland and Aberdeenshire area
• Sharing driving responsibilities 50/50 with the other driver
• Working as a Drivers Mate when not driving
• Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries
• Carrying out manual handling, including moving and handling goods safely
• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
• Completing relevant vehicle and delivery paperwork
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
• Following drivers' hours, Working Time and road safety regulations
• Providing a professional and helpful service when completing deliveries
• Working closely with your driving partner to ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently
