Job summary

Barrett Steel Limited invites applications for a dual-role Class 2 Driver at Goodman Steel, Reading. This position combines driving with warehouse duties, multi-drop deliveries, and daily stock handling to ensure safe, accurate orders.

You will check loads, operate forklifts, and uphold health and safety standards while providing excellent customer service. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Class 2 License with less than 6 points.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card are required.
• Experience in a busy warehouse using forklift trucks is preferred.
• Organised and methodical in approach.
• Health & safety champion.
• Flexible with a one team mindset.

Responsibilities

• Check load security and weight distribution at start and end of each shift.
• Ensure vehicles are safe, with daily checks completed before use.
• Oversee safe unloading and deliver excellent customer service.
• Ensure Proof of Delivery documents are signed, dated and returned promptly.
• Pick computer-generated orders with repetitive handling of heavy items.
• Transfer stock to its location using manual handling, forklift trucks and cranes.
• Assist in overall production and dispatch of customer orders.
• Ensure all documentation is correctly actioned for stock accuracy.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations on and off site.
