Job summary

Countrystyle Recycling Ltd in Sittingbourne is seeking a Class 2 Driver (Trade Waste) for the PM shift. You will drive dustcarts for waste collection, ensure safe loads, and deliver strong customer service, while maintaining daily safety checks and compliance.

The role is permanent and full-time, with Monday–Friday hours (48 per week) and potential overtime on Saturdays. Salary is £18.87 per hour plus KPI bonus; CPC and digi-tacho and HGV Class 2 licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• HGV Class 2 licence with current CPC and digi-tacho.

Responsibilities

• Complete all daily vehicle checks and fill the Vehicle Defect sheet.
• Ensure CCTV cameras are functional before starting work.
• Report defects to the Fleet Office and complete tasks within shift.
• Submit paperwork accurately and on time and maintain records.
• Refuel vehicles and attend end-of-day debriefing with Fleet Office.

Location: Ridham Dock Road, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME9 8SR

Salary: £18.87 per hour + KPI performance related bonus

Job Type: Permanent, Full time

Hours: Monday - Friday 48hr (between 12pm to 2pm start time) you may be required to work overtime on Saturdays

The Role:

To drive Company dustcarts for the collection and emptying of customer waste bins and sacks. Delivering high levels of customer service in the customer-facing role.

Responsibilities:

• Complete all daily vehicle checks and fill out the Vehicle Defect sheet at the start and end of each shift
• Ensure all CCTV cameras are functional and inward-facing cameras are positioned correctly before starting work
• Report defects, including tyre issues, to the Fleet Office
• Complete all assigned tasks within the working day
• Submit all paperwork accurately and on time
• Maintain regular communication with the Fleet Office, reporting any issues or incidents immediately
• Refuel vehicles upon returning to the yard or depot
• Attend end-of-day debriefing with the Fleet Office for advice on the next day's work
• Secure all loads to prevent waste or debris from falling during transit
• Wear the required PPE when collecting or delivering to customers and Countrystyle sites
• Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the Fleet Office or Compliance Team and obtain necessary details
• Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others
• Cooperate with company management systems, report unsafe conditions, and comply with safe work practices and legal requirements

About you:

Essentials:

• Good communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
• Customer Service skills
• 2 years HGV driving experience
• HGV Class 2 licence
• Current CPC and digi-tacho

Desirable:

• Previous experience driving dustcarts
• Work within the waste management industry
