Job summary

Driver Hire Newark and Grantham are recruiting an experienced Plant Hire Class 2 Driver to work for a client in Newark. Initially an agency role with potential for permanent placement, offering Monday–Friday work with no weekends for a stable work-life balance.

You will deliver and collect plant equipment across local areas, drive a Class 2 vehicle, and perform safety checks. Plant hire experience is advantageous, CPC/Tacho cards required.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Category C (Class 2) licence for at least 12 months.
• Good understanding of plant equipment.
• Plant hire or plant delivery experience is preferred.
• In-date CPC qualification and Tacho cards.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Professional attitude and strong customer service.
• Reliable and committed to ongoing work.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting plant equipment to customer sites.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am starts
Pay: From £17.75 per hour + daily overtime after 8.5 hours

Driver Hire Newark and Grantham are currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Hire Class 2 Driver to work for one of our amazing clients based in Newark.

This is initially an agency position, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right driver. The role offers regular Monday-to-Friday work with no weekends, making it an excellent opportunity for a driver looking for a consistent work-life balance.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering and collecting a variety of plant equipment from customer sites across the local area and surrounding regions.

The role will involve:

• Driving a Class 2 vehicle
• Delivering and collecting various pieces of plant equipment
• Loading, securing and transporting equipment safely
• Manoeuvring plant equipment on and off sites
• Carrying out vehicle and equipment checks
• Dealing professionally with customers and site staff
• Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time

Plant hire experience would be highly advantageous, although drivers with a good understanding of plant equipment and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

• Monday to Friday
• 6:00am starts
• Assignment rates starting from £17.75 per hour
• Daily overtime paid on anything worked over 8.5 hours

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Have held a valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence for at least 12 months
• Have a good understanding of plant equipment
• Ideally have previous plant hire or plant delivery experience
• Hold in-date CPC qualification and Tacho cards
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Have a professional attitude and good customer service skills
• Be reliable and committed to ongoing work
