Job summary

The Best Connection are recruiting HGV Class 2 (LGV C) drivers for our Gateshead-based client. Role involves night deliveries of drinks to pubs and venues across the North East, with a 22:00 start and Monday–Friday shifts.

Responsibilities include night driving, yard shunting, multi-drop deliveries, and manual handling of heavy stock with client-facing duties. Training is provided for new pass drivers along with solid pay and overtime premiums.

Qualifications

• Valid Cat C licence with up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• New pass drivers welcome; full training and support will be provided.
• Good physical fitness and smart appearance for client interactions.

The Best Connection are currently seeking to recruit HGV Class 2 (LGV C) drivers to work with our client based in Gateshead. Our client specialises in the distribution and delivery of drinks and beverages to pubs and hospitality venues across the North East.

Responsibilities

• Class 2 night driving on designated delivery and trunking routes.
• Yard shunting duties moving and positioning rigid vehicles safely on-site when required.
• Multi-drop delivery of heavy drinks stock, including beer kegs and barrels.
• Manual handling of heavy items using specialized delivery equipment.
• Customer-facing interaction at night-delivery and hospitality locations.
• Representing both our client and The Best Connection.

Experience / Education Requirements

• Valid Cat C licence along with up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• New pass drivers welcome as full training and support will be provided.
• Good physical fitness due to the heavy nature of dray delivery work.
• Smart appearance suitable for client interactions.
• Positive attitude towards professional driving standards and customer service.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Friday schedule.
• 22:00pm start time each night.

Pay Rates (PAYE)

• £16.75 per hour basic rate.
• £25.13 per hour overtime rate 1 (x1.5).
• £33.50 per hour overtime rate 2 (x2).
