Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Class 2 Driver Nights in Haverfordwest. You will operate refrigerated vehicles (3.5T–18T) with a tail lift to manage multi-drop milk cage deliveries across West Wales, from Swansea to destination points, while ensuring safety and accuracy.

The role requires a valid UK Class 2 Licence, DCPC, and a digital tachograph card, with overnight shifts starting at 23:00. Training and development are offered, along with overtime at enhanced weekend rates.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 3.5–18T refrigerated multi-drop milk cage deliveries to West Wales stores.
• Unload cages safely and place at store entrances.
• Complete up to 12 drops per day with accuracy and timeliness.
• Secure loads using straps and nets to prevent movement.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks via company tools.
• Maintain regular communication with transport team.

Salary & Benefits

• Competitive Salary: £34,021 per annum - £38,109 per annum, depending on hours worked
• Additional £2.75 per hour for hours between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs

About the Role

As a Class 2 Driver Nights, you will:

• Operate refrigerated vehicles ranging from 3.5T to 18T with use of a tail lift to make multi drop milk cage deliveries to retail stores throughout West Wales, from Swansea to the destination.
• Safely unload cages from the vehicle and move them to the store entrance at each delivery point, ensuring efficiency and proper handling.
• Complete up to 12 drops per day, maintaining accuracy and timeliness across all deliveries.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure customer expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated with industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 2 (C) Licence
• Comfort operating refrigerated vehicles from 3.5 to 18 tonnes
• Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)
• Digital Tachograph Driver Card
• Experience in multi-drop delivery preferred but not essential
• Pride in delivering exceptional customer service
• Ability to work to tight schedules and manage time effectively
• Confident, polite communicator, collaborative team player
• Good understanding of UK road networks, especially across Wales
