Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking an experienced 7.5T Delivery Driver to join the Cormar Carpets team in Sherburn (LS25 6JH). The role is full-time and permanent, involving a 50-hour weekly schedule from 06:00 Monday to Friday.

You will deliver to warehouses and stores, while maintaining safety, accuracy and excellent customer service. Pay is £15.07 per hour (£39,182 per annum), with access to benefits through the Hapi App platform, including discounts, cycle-to-work, and savings schemes.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with category 7.5T entitlement.
• Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) required.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 current penalty points on your licence.
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, LC or TT99 endorsements within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 7.5-tonne vehicle in compliance with road traffic laws, regulations and company procedures.
• Deliver products to high street stores and warehouses, ensuring accurate handling and timely delivery.
• Physically handle stock, including lifting, loading, unloading and handballing.
• Provide excellent customer service and accurately record product returns.
• Complete vehicle safety checks, maintain tachograph records, report defects and safeguard vehicle and stock.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Safely operate a 7.5-tonne vehicle in full compliance with road traffic laws, vehicle regulations, and company procedures
• Deliver products to high street stores and warehouses, ensuring accurate handling, secure transportation, and timely delivery
• This is a physically demanding role, duties including lifting, loading, unloading, and handballing stock
• Provide excellent customer service while collecting and accurately recording product returns
• Complete vehicle safety checks, maintained tachograph records, reported defects, and always ensure vehicle and stock security

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• A full UK driving licence with category 7.5T entitlement
• A valid Driver Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years
• Excellent Time management skills and comfortable in working to deadlines, excellent communication and customer service skills are essential
