Job summary

DHL, an award-winning leader in supply chain solutions, is looking for a HGV Class 2 Dray Driver in Ipswich. This customer-facing role requires early starts from 5:00am, 44hr weeks, and occasional Saturdays to support a busy delivery operation.

You will work with a Driver’s Mate to unload, log PODs, and keep the transport team updated, handling 10–12 drops daily while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (C) licence is essential.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card are essential.
• No more than 6 penalty points is essential.
• Multi-drop HGV driving experience is desirable.
• Dray or similar delivery experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive and deliver alcoholic products to pubs, restaurants and hotels.
• Complete 10–12 drops per day on average.
• Manage manual handling of up to 11 tonnes daily.
• Adhere to Driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Maintain health and safety and vehicle compliance.

Pay Rate: £40,036.00 Grade: CA Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: Monday to Friday (05:00 - 07:00) 4 Compulsory Saturdays, 44hr week Location: Ipswich, IP1 5NX DHL, an award-winning leader in supply chain solutions, is looking for a HGV Class 2 Dray Driver to join our team. This is a customer-facing role with a great social element, perfect for someone who enjoys building relationships while delivering excellent service.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• Monday-Friday shift pattern with early starts (from 5:00am)
• 4 Saturdays per year required as part of the role
• Delivering alcoholic products to pubs, restaurants, and hotels
• Completing 10-12 drops per day (on average)
• Managing manual handling of up to 11 tonnes of stock daily
• Driving safely and efficiently, in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Maintaining strict compliance with Health & Safety, road safety laws, and vehicle regulations

Working alongside a Driver's Mate to:

• Support unloading
• Manage Proof of Deliveries (PODs)
• Keep the transport team updated
