Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting a Cat C driver to deliver household appliances across the region from Tankersley/Barnsley. Role involves 1–10 deliveries daily (avg 6) with a focus on safety and customer service. Starts 05:00–07:00, Monday to Friday, with ongoing opportunities for the right candidate.

Salary is paid hourly with holiday pay accrual options (£15.85–£17.76 per hour). The company offers temp-to-perm prospects, CPC training, and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Cat C (Class 2) Licence.
• Valid CPC Qualification Card.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 2 years' Class 2 driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points.
• Good geographical knowledge and time management skills.
• Professional and reliable attitude.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 2 (Cat C) vehicle safely and in accordance with all driving regulations.
• Delivering household appliances to residential and commercial customers.
• Completing 1-10 deliveries per day, averaging 6 drops.
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Accurately completing delivery paperwork and PODs.
• Providing outstanding customer service at delivery locations.
• Following all company procedures and health & safety guidelines.

Job Type: Class 2 Driver

Location: Tankersley, Barnsley, S75

Pay Rate: £15.85 per hour (Holiday pay accrued) / £17.76 per hour (Holiday pay included)

Holiday Pay: You can choose to have your holiday pay accrued and paid when you take annual leave, or receive it as rolled-up holiday pay within your regular wages. The rolled-up rate includes the applicable holiday pay uplift.

Times and Days of Work:

Monday to Friday

Start times: between 05:00 and 07:00

Position Type: Ongoing/TTP for the right candidate

About the Role

As a Cat C Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of household appliances to customers across the region. This is a multidrop role involving between 1 and 10 deliveries per day, averaging around 6 drops daily. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
