Job summary

Barrett Steel Limited is seeking a HGV Class 2 Driver to perform multi-drop driving duties. You will be responsible for overseeing the unloading of vehicles, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining customer service quality.

This role requires holding a valid HGV Class 2 Licence and comes with additional benefits like life assurance and access to health services. Basic hours are Monday to Friday at 42.5 hours with additional overtime available.

Qualifications

• To hold a valid HGV Class 2 Licence (with no more than 6 points).
• Own a Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card.
• Knowledge of working time directive.
• Previous experience in a warehousing or distribution business, ideally multi-drop.
• Understanding and experience of EHS requirements.
• The ability to stay away as and when the job requires it.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-drop driving & related duties.

All About the Role

The purpose of this role is to carry out multi-drop driving & related duties involved with the carriage of goods. The basic hours for this role are Monday to Friday 42.5 hours plus overtime.

Specific tasks include:

• To oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises
• Ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed & returned without delay.
• To check the load security & weight distribution according to latest safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
• To ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards, of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
• Ensures vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, & are operated in a safe manner.
• Uphold all exacting health and safety standards at site, on the road and at customer premises.
• Be an ambassador for high-quality customer service
• Support in the warehouse when needed.
