Job summary

XPO Logistics is recruiting a full-time, permanent Class 1 HGV Shunter Driver for our Sherburn in Elmet site. You will perform yard trailer movements and operate a Tug on-site, with training provided.

The role involves rotating shifts (nights/days) and requires shunting experience or willingness to upskill. A Class 1 entitlement is preferred, with a clean licence and up to 6 points.

Are you an experienced night yard shunter looking for work in a stable industry during these strange times?? If you answered yes, then look no further - XPO Logistics is recruiting! We're looking for a full-time, permanent Class 1 HGV Shunter Driver to join us based on our site in Sherburn in Elmet. You bring the commitment and we will provide the training.

Pay, benefits and more

Shifts are on a rotational basis:
Monday to Friday - Rotating shifts 20:45 - 05:15, 12:45 - 21:15, 04:45 - 13:15
Nights, Afters & Days.

Pay Rates: £30,118.40 per year.

What you'll do on a typical day

• You will be working an alternating shift pattern over a 3 week period
• You will work in a safe manner at all times
• You’ll be performing trailer movements in our busy regional yard
• You will be driving a Tug on-site so previous experience would be an advantage
• All work is yard based, no road work is expected
• You must have shunting experience as some manoeuvres are in confined spaces

What you need to succeed at XPO

• Must be flexible in working hours
• No experience needed, full training will be given
• Ideally LGV / HGV C+E / Class 1 Entitlement on your licence
• If a trained yard shunter without HGV Class 1, we will look to upskill your current licence
• No more than 6 points, with no DD or DR endorsements present
