Job summary

XPO is hiring shunters for the Kingspan partnership at our Holywell depot. Earn £32,254.19 per year with 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts (days 06:00–18:00, nights 18:00–06:00) and Christmas off. Benefits include discounts, Cycle to Work, pension, CPC training and 20 days holiday.

You’ll drive HGV Class 1 and shunt, ensuring safe, on-site movement of Kingspan products. Must hold LGV C+E, CPC and DIGI cards, with no more than 6 points and no DD/DR/IN endorsements.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV C+E licence.
• CPC and DIGI card.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive HGV Class 1 and shunt vehicles.
• Cover shunting on customer sites.
• Ensure goods are correctly strapped before journeys.
• Operate to safety standards and follow XPO SSOWs.
• Complete daily trailer movement logs and refuelling at shift end.
• Inspect trailers and report any defects or loading issues.

Job description

We are currently building a new team of drivers for our partnership with Kingspan at our depot in Holywell .

We are looking for shunters. The salary £32,254.19 salary per year, and you will be working 4 on 4 off. 12-hour shifts Days : 06:00 -18:00

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• You will be safely driving our HGV Class 1 and Shunt Vehicles in a courteous manner
• Covering Shunting requirements on our customers site
• Making sure all goods are correctly strapped before commencing journeys
• Driving the latest equipment and operating to safety standards
• Safely operate our vehicle delivering Kingspan products
• Undertake written pre shift checks to Tugs ensuring and defects are logged
• Ensure Tugs are kept clean and tidy and washed weekly
• Ensure all duties are carried out with compliance to all XPO SSOW’s
• Complete daily XPO Trailer Movement log each shift detailing all trailers moved
• Ensure tug is refueiled at the end of the shift
• Timely escallation of any issues preventing trailer movement
• Ensure PPE is regularly inspected and is used at all times
• When not shunting trailers, to be involved in Meet and Greet at trailer parks with changeover drivers
• Inspect empty trailers upon arrival and advise team of any trailers not preped for loading or unfit for use
• Ensure partial restraints (2x straps) used for all unsecured movements of procuct
• Be aware of, and act in accordance with, all XPO policies
• Bring to the attention of your manager any matter that could be detrimental to the wellbeing of the Company
• Carry out any other duties which may reasonably be required by your manager

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Valid LGV C+E Licence
• An up to date CPC and DIGI card
• No more than 6 points on your licence
• No DD, DR or IN endorsements showing on your licence
