Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd in Avonmouth is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join our delivery team. You will operate curtain side, tail lift and box trailers on a dedicated contract, with typically 1–3 drops per shift and a focus on safe, timely deliveries.

The role offers £17.00 per hour (46,982 per annum) with overtime and enhanced weekend rates. A valid UK Class 1 CE licence, Driver CPC and Tachograph Card are essential, with ongoing training provided to support career development.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence and Driver CPC.
• Possess a current Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to retail or customer sites is advantageous, but full training is provided.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods to retail stores on a dedicated contract using curtain side, tail lift, and box trailers.
• Typically 1–3 drops per shift, maintaining on-schedule deliveries and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure loads are securely restrained and safely unloaded at customer sites.
• Operate electric-assisted pallet trucks and perform manual handling when required.
• Manage trailer movements and return trailers for servicing at shift end.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report issues to transport office.
• Maintain out-of-hours communication with the transport office for updates.
• Represent the company professionally at delivery points and build relationships.
