Job summary

Gregory Group in Glasgow is seeking a Class 1 Driver to operate a double decker trailer for Pallet Network, trunking pallets from Glasgow to locations across the UK. This role involves both single and double person trunking depending on the destination, with loads secured to prevent movement.

You will perform daily vehicle safety checks, stay in regular contact with the transport team, and take part in ongoing training to meet industry standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Use a double decker trailer to trunk pallets from Glasgow to various locations across the UK (Aberdeen, Inverness, Haydock and Birmingham).
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly using straps, nets and securing devices.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and maintain vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to update progress and meet customer expectations.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay up to date with industry standards.

About The Role

• Use a double decker trailer to trunk pallets on behalf of Pallet Network from Glasgow to various locations over the UK (Aberdeen, Inverness, Haydock and Birmingham). This will involve both single person and double person trunking depending on destination.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.
