Job summary

Flexible People in Barnsley is recruiting HGV Class 1 Night Drivers for ongoing work in a growing logistics operation. You will drive Class 1 (C+E) night shifts, complete deliveries and collections, and adapt to varied assignments across stores, RDCs, warehouses, and trunking.

Shifts are night hours, starting after 12:00, 5 days out of 7, 8–10 hours. You must have UK HGV Class 1 Night licence, DCPC, Digital Tachograph Card, and at least 6 months experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver CPC (DCPC).
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and WTD legislation.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects.

Responsibilities

• Drive articulated Class 1 (C+E) vehicles on night routes including store deliveries and trunking.

We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Drivers to join a well-established and growing logistics operation based in Barnsley.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Class 1 drivers looking for ongoing work, competitive pay rates and a variety of driving assignments.

Pay Rates

• Week Night Shifts (Monday to Friday): £19 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
• Saturday Night Shifts: £22 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
• Sunday Night Shifts: £24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

The Role

The role involves driving articulated vehicles (Class 1 Night / C+E), completing a variety of deliveries and collections, including:

• Store deliveries
• RDCs and distribution centres
• Warehouse deliveries
• General haulage
• Trunking between sites
• Drop & swap work

Class 1 Drivers may also be required to support the wider national logistics network when needed.

Shift Details

The role involves long-distance driving Class 1 HGV vehicles, trunking between sites and deliveries to major distribution centres, stores and warehouses.

Class 1 Drivers must comply with all drivers' hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations and complete full vehicle safety checks before starting their journeys.

Requirements for a Class 1 Night Driver
