Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking a hardworking Class 1 driver with HIAB experience to join a fast-paced team in London on a temp-to-perm basis.

You will operate 28t and 7.5t flatbeds with HIAB, load and secure steel beams, and complete 1–4 drops per day across the London area. A valid ALLMI card is highly desirable.

Working hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a typical day. Rate £30–£35 per hour gross depending on HIAB experience.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience operating HIAB equipment is essential.
• ALLMI CARD would be great.

Responsibilities

• Load RSJ and steel beams onto flatbed trucks in the workshop (assisted by staff and crane).
• Safely strap and secure all steel loads before transit.
• Complete 1 to 4 drops per day across the London area.
• Safely operate the HIAB to offload beams onto kerbside or into properties via openings.

Job description

The Best Connection are currently looking for a hardworking reliable Class 1 driver with HIAB experience

to join a fast past driving team on a temp-to-perm basis

Class 1 / HIAB Driver

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break at 12:00 PM or aligned with tachograph requirements).
• Vehicles: 28t and 7.5t flatbeds (both equipped with HIABs). Leyland DAF and Isuzu Cabster

Key Responsibilities:

• Loading: Load RSJ and steel beams onto flatbed trucks in the workshop (assisted by workshop staff and overhead crane) either in the morning or evening prior to dispatch.
• Securing: Safely strap and secure all steel loads before transit.
• Deliveries: Complete 1 to 4 drops per day across the London area.
• Offloading: Safely operate the HIAB to offload steel beams onto the kerbside or directly into properties via building openings.

Requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience operating HIAB equipment is essential. ALLMI CARD would be great.
• Complete daily lorry checks
• Drive and operate hiab in safe and respectful manner for tech clients and public
• Call clients prior to delivery's and liaise with the office best routes to take based on expected traffic , road suitability etc
• Handover of delivery sheet to client as well as checking whats being loaded with the team before setting off for delivery to help with weight restrictions and minimise missing items for clients.

Pay Rate

• Rate: £30.00 - £35.00 per hour (gross), depending on driver skill set and HIAB experience.
