Job description

Job Title: Class 1 Driver

At GI Group, we are recruiting Class 1 drivers for our client in Lutterworth, LE17. We focus on reliability and excellence in service and are seeking dedicated drivers for long-term work, including the possibility of temp-to-perm positions.

Overview

1. Deliver pallets primarily to supermarkets.
2. Manual handling involved.
3. Adhere to all road safety regulations and maintain high standards of professionalism.

Shifts and Hours

• Monday to Friday (weekend work available)
• Start times: 17:00 to 20:00
• Shift duration: 10-12 hours

Rates of Pay

• Monday to Friday: £16.50 per hour
• Overtime rate: £18.50 per hour
• PAYE only

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all pre-driving checks.
• Verify goods against delivery notes.
• Handle high-value goods with care, ensuring vehicle is not left unattended when delivering.
• Maintain professionalism at all times.
• Deliver products safely and in compliance with regulations nationwide.
• Report any issues promptly to office or management.
• Take scheduled breaks; 45 minutes per day are unpaid.
• Provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Valid Class 1 driving license with relevant certifications.
2. At least 1 year of transport experience.
3. Clean driving record and commitment to safe driving.
4. Ability to work independently and in a team.
5. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
6. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
