Simarco International, a leading UK-based logistics provider, is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join its transport team in Witham. You will manage palletised freight, plan routes for cost-efficiency, and ensure safe loading and timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards.

The role offers a competitive salary of £39,988 per year, 50-hour weeks, overtime opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension and training support.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence with Driver CPC and Digital Tacho Card.
• Experience driving HGV Class 1 is essential.
• Knowledge of vehicle weights and legal limits.
• Familiarity with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Understanding of Construction and Use Regulations.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively under pressure.
• Flexible approach to hours and dependable attendance.

Responsabilités

• Delivery and collection of customers' freight as scheduled by Transport Office.
• Multi-drop deliveries and collections across various locations.
• Supervise loading to ensure safe, secure loading and minimise damage.
• Verify correct goods and quantities loaded/unloaded.
• Plan daily routes for cost and operational efficiency.
• Process Delivery Notes and PODs (electronic or manual).
• Inform Transport Office of delays or issues during shifts.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs.
• Refuel vehicle daily per company procedure.
