Job summary

Siamo Recruitment a division of Siamo Group in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver for ongoing, regular work with a path to permanent employment after a qualifying period.

You will drive Class 1 vehicles, complete deliveries, handle palletised loads with tail lift/pump truck, and keep accurate delivery records while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence and CPC.
• Digital Tachograph Card and knowledge of drivers' hours.
• Professional attitude, good timekeeping and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 1 vehicles safely and deliver to customers.
• Complete deliveries, palletised goods handling, and paperwork.
• Maintain tachograph records and report defects.
• Provide excellent customer service on delivery.

Class 1 HGV Driver – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham

Pay Rate: £17.84 per hour

Job Type: Ongoing / Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for an established logistics operation based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional HGV driver looking for regular, ongoing work with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful qualifying period.

The Role

• Driving Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Completing deliveries and collections to customer locations.
• Handling palletised goods using a tail lift and pump truck where required.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
• Assisting customers with deliveries where required.
• Completing delivery paperwork and digital delivery records.
• Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
• Complying with all drivers' hours, tachograph and company procedures.
• Providing excellent customer service at every delivery.

Requirements

• A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• A professional attitude and excellent timekeeping
• Good customer service skills
• Experience with palletised deliveries
• Experience using a tail lift and pump truck is advantageous
• No more than 6 penalty points (some endorsements may not be accepted)All driver documentation and a DVLA licence check will be completed before you start.

First Shift Drivers will complete a short induction before their first shift, covering the digital delivery system, Safe Systems of Work, tail lift operation and a brief tachograph test.
