Job summary

Siamo Recruitment a division of Siamo Group is seeking experienced Class 1 HGV drivers for our Birmingham operation. You will safely transport palletised goods, complete deliveries and maintain accurate records, with a view to permanent placement after a qualifying period.

This ongoing temp-to-perm role offers £17.84 per hour, paid breaks, full site induction, and consistent work. A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC and tachograph card are required, plus good knowledge of drivers' hours and

Class 1 HGV Driver - Birmingham

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for an established logistics operation based in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional HGV driver looking for regular, ongoing work with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful qualifying period.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of palletised goods.

• Driving Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Completing deliveries and collections to customer locations.
• Handling palletised goods using a tail lift and pump truck where required.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
• Assisting customers with deliveries where required.
• Completing delivery paperwork and digital delivery records.
• Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
• Complying with all drivers' hours, tachograph and company procedures.
• Providing excellent customer service at every delivery.

Requirements

• A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• A professional attitude and excellent timekeeping
• Good customer service skills
• Experience with palletised deliveries
• Experience using a tail lift and pump truck is advantageous
• No more than 6 penalty points (some endorsements may not be accepted)All driver documentation and a DVLA licence check will be completed before you start.

First Shift

Drivers will complete a short induction before their first shift, covering the digital delivery system, Safe Systems of Work, tail lift operation and a brief tachograph test.
