Job summary

Driver Hire Edinburgh West is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for ad hoc and part-time shifts across West Lothian. This casual and temporary role offers flexible shifts with opportunities to pick up assignments from a range of clients.

Pay rates are £15.50 per hour PAYE, with £17.37 per hour for advanced PAYE, and full-time hours may occasionally be available. A valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC, tachograph card, and at least 1 year of Class 1 experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence and Driver CPC.
• Digital Tachograph Card held and up-to-date.
• Minimum 1 year’s Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points and clean endorsements.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and transport regulations.

Responsibilities

• Trunking, single/multi-drop deliveries and pallet network work.
• Complete vehicle checks and required paperwork.
• Comply with drivers’ hours, health and safety procedures.

Driver Hire Edinburgh West are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Drivers for a variety of assignments across West Lothian.

Looking to earn some extra money, pick up occasional shifts or fit driving work around other commitments? We have opportunities across a range of clients and driving assignments, with flexibility to suit your availability where possible.

Full-time hours may occasionally be available, although these cannot be guaranteed.

What Work Is Available?

Assignments will vary depending on client requirements and may include:

• Trunking and general haulage.
• Single-drop and multi-drop deliveries.
• Pallet network work.
• A-to-B vehicle movements.
• Loading and unloading where required.
• Completing vehicle checks and associated paperwork.
• Complying with drivers’ hours, transport regulations and health and safety procedures.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across different routes, vehicles and types of assignments.

Essential Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 1 year’s Class 1 driving experience – essential.
• No more than 6 penalty points – minor offences only.
• No IN, DD, DR or CD endorsements.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and transport legislation.
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach.
• Flexible attitude towards different assignments.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Pay Rates

• PAYE Basic: £15.50 per hour, plus holiday pay accrued.
• PAYE Advanced: £17.37 per hour.
