Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking reliable Class 1 Drivers for Exeter (EX5 1EW). This role offers competitive hourly pay, temporary ongoing contracts, and varied shifts within a nationwide logistics operation.

As a Class 1 Driver, you will move mail and parcels between hubs and delivery points, perform vehicle checks, and maintain accurate records. A valid UK C+E licence, Driver CPC and Tachograph Card are required, along with a safe driving record and a professional approach.

Qualifications

• Valid UK C+E driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no serious driving endorsements.
• 1 year previous Class 1 driving experience within a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicle on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely while ensuring the security of all goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the wider operations team.
• Follow all road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.
