Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting experienced HGV Drivers in the Gateshead area for ongoing, full-time work with consistent weekday hours. You may operate Class 1, Class 2 or 7.5T vehicles, with all shifts paid at the Class 1 rate. Start ASAP with a potential temp-to-perm opportunity.

Work from Team Valley or Washington, with 10-15 stops per day, using a handheld scanner for accurate tracking and paperwork. Flexible, reliable and safety-conscious drivers are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card holder.
• Minimum 1 year of professional HGV driving experience.
• Willing to drive Class 1, Class 2 and 7.5T vehicles as required.
• Flexible to work from Team Valley or Washington depending on business needs.
• Proactive and able to work independently in a busy depot.
• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries across the region, typically 10-15 stops per day.
• Operate Class 1, Class 2 or 7.5T vehicles as required by the business.
• Ensure goods are loaded safely, secured and delivered on time.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and follow safety standards.
• Use handheld scanner/app for tracking and paperwork, communicate with transport team and customers.
