Job summary

Turners (Soham) is recruiting LGV Class 1 drivers based at our Newmarket Depot. You will drive professionally, develop strong working relationships with planning, training and supervisory teams, and represent the company in a welcoming manner.

Newly qualified drivers with training provided are welcome, and experienced drivers are encouraged to apply. Shift patterns vary, with early starts and flexible hours, all in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have LGV/Class 1 entitlement and valid CPC training.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Ability to comply with Tachograph and Working Time Directive.

Job description

Turners (Soham) is recruiting LGV Class1 drivers to be based at our Newmarket Depot.

As a professional and skilled driver you will be required to demonstrate professionalism and courteous conduct to our customers. As a driver within our Fridge division, you will develop close working relationships with your planning, training, and supervisory team, and driving colleagues in an organisation that strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment.

Our customers have variable delivery times that are governed by needs, capacity and schedules, meaning that drivers will need to has some flexibility, with shift starting and finishing times. Shift lengths do vary but you are expected to comply with all Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations at all times.

Turners can offer employment to suitable newly qualified drivers with limited experience, and full training will be provided to these candidates. We are also keen to engage experienced drivers who can bring expertise and knowledge to our company.

Successful applicants MUST have the following:

• Mon-Fri, Sun-Thurs, Thurs-Sun.
• Early start times 2:30-4:30, Mon-Fri.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English
• Weekly driving style (fuel) bonus.
• Overtime available on optional shift days.
• Company uniform and PPE provided.
