Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of our client in York for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E). Shifts run Mon-Sun, full-time or part-time, with start times from 12:00 to 21:00 and night-rate pay. Roles involve depot-to-hub movements, customer collections/deliveries, loading/unloading, and occasional tail-lift operations.

Qualifications

Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
Minimum 6 months proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
No infringement points for three consecutive months.
Flexibility to work shifts across Mon-Sun from 12:00 to 21:00 (night rate).
Understanding of WTD legislation and good communication.

Responsibilities

Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally uncoupling the vehicle.
Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.
