The Best Connection is recruiting for Class 1 HGV drivers at our Chorley site. We are expanding our team and seeking reliable professionals to join a busy operation with weekend shift patterns.

Roles include early and late start times, competitive hourly rates, and paid extra training. Applicants should have 2 years Class 1 experience, UK CE licence, and a clean licence with up to six points. A tacho test and driving assessment are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' Class 1 driving experience.
• Full UK driving licence with CE entitlement, no more than six points on your licence, and no DD, DR, or IN endorsements.
• Strong knowledge of UK roads nationally.
• Reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Pass a tacho test and driving assessment.
• Attend a paid Health & Safety training day if you pass.

Shift Patterns We Are Looking For

• Wednesday to Sunday
• Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday
• Additional days outside of the shift patterns above are desirable

At present, our current business requirements prioritise weekend driver availability. Therefore, applications from candidates unable to commit to weekend shifts will not be considered at this time. However, we anticipate opportunities for Monday to Friday driver roles later in the year and encourage interested candidates to apply then.

Flexible Start Times to Suit Different Routes

• Early Mornings: 03:00 - 08:00
• Late Mornings: 11:00 - 15:00

What We’re Looking For

Competitive Pay Rates

• Monday - Saturday (Days 06:00-18:00): £18.42 per hour
• Monday - Saturday (PM 18:00-22:00): £22.17 per hour
• Monday - Saturday (Nights 22:00-06:00): £23.42 per hour
• Overtime (after 47.5 hrs): £27.63 per hour
• Sunday (Days): £27.63 per hour
• Sunday (PM): £31.38 per hour
• Sunday (Nights): £32.63 per hour
