Job summary

Grafters Recruit Ltd is seeking an HGV/Class 1 (CE) driver for ongoing work at our Crewe client site with immediate starts available. The role involves depot-to-depot trunk runs, completing all logs and paperwork, and performing pre-trip vehicle checks.

Requirements include a CE licence with at least 2 years of experience, a full UK driving licence, no more than 6 points, and DIGI and CPC cards. The job offers an hourly rate of £19.61 with a paid 6th shift at £29.41 and shifts from 4am.

Job description

Grafters Recruit are currently looking for HGV / Class 1 / CE Drivers to work out of our client's premises in Crewe on an on-going basis with immediate starts available.

For this HGV / Class 1 / LGV1 / C+E Driver role, you will be responsible for:

• Driving a double decker heavy goods vehicle.
• Completing trunk runs only, depot to depot.
• Ensuring all paperwork and logs are completed accurately.
• Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any defects.

For this HGV / Class 1 / LGV1 / C+E Driver role, you will need:

• CE licence with a minimum of 2 year's experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• No more than 6 points.
• DIGI and CPC Card.

Details of this HGV / Class 1 / LGV 1 / C+E Driver role:

• Hourly rate of £19.61 per hour with a 6th shift paid at £29.41 per hour.
• Monday – Friday with 6th shift available if driver wants one.
• 4am – 8am starts (driver can pick)
• Positive and friendly environment including free on-site parking.
• Minimum 8hrs guaranteed per shift, even if you do less.
• No handball
• Pre booked shifts available.

Grafters Recruit Ltd have five branches, four on-site locations and four remote contracts throughout the country. Initially a specialist driving agency, in recent years Grafters have focused on growth in new sectors by developing Industrial and commercial desks in each branch with great success.

Assessment lasts around 2/3 hours but they will be paid after the 5th shift for this once they start.
