Job summary

Pertemps Redditch Industrial is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to support a major logistics operation in Thurrock for 11 weeks. You’ll be delivering fresh, frozen and ambient goods to local stores using a modern, well-maintained fleet.

Typical shifts run 8–13 hours with 3–6 drops per shift. Start times are 03:00 or 19:00, with Wednesday–Saturday work and optional Sunday or Monday peak shifts. A full driving assessment and induction are provided at Thurrock depot.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of Class 1 driving experience.
• Ability to work Wednesday–Saturday (plus optional Sunday/Monday when required)
• Willingness to complete a full driving assessment and induction, including transport knowledge testing
• Assessment & induction take place at Thurrock depot.
• If passed, drivers complete a short run and the day is paid.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicles across multi-drop store delivery routes.
• Handle chilled, frozen, and ambient goods.
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
• Work efficiently to complete all scheduled drops and potential second runs.

Pay: From £20.16 per hour
