Job description

Savanna Staff Solutions has recently partnered with one of the world's largest postal services, and we are seeking Class 1 drivers for depots in Ipswich and Snetterton. Drivers will be offered work at both sites.

All shifts start in the PM, and duties involve trunking runs between depots.

Class 1 Driver Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily pre- and post-vehicle inspections to ensure HGV roadworthiness.
2. Conduct trunk driving between depots, including trailer swaps at operating centres.
3. Follow correct procedures and operating systems.
4. Maintain high standards of driving on the road.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Minimum 1 year of Cat CE (HGV Class 1) experience, with at least 6 months provable on-road experience.
• Current UK driving licence, Digi card, and CPC DQC card.
• Right to live and work in the UK (9-digit settlement share code).
• Good spoken and written English.

We encourage Class 1 drivers to download their Digi cards promptly. If you have at least 6 months of continuous driving (minimum 2 days per week over 6 months), you will be considered for ongoing work through the year.

Rates are paid via Umbrella PAYE, with enhanced overtime pay after 8 hours and on weekends and bank holidays.
