Job summary

QS Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a leading UK manufacturer to supply long-term opportunities for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers. The role involves nationwide deliveries to builders’ merchants, sites, and commercial customers with structured routes and a regular weekday schedule.

Drivers will typically perform 4–8 deliveries per shift, use modern curtain-sided vehicles, and complete safety checks and paperwork to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Current Driver CPC qualification required.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card required.
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence.
• Minimum 12 months’ Class 1 driving experience.
• At least 180 days of commercial driving experience within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Transport products to builders’ merchants, construction sites and commercial customers across the country.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and comply with transport and safety regulations.
• Open/secure vehicle curtains during loading/unloading as required.
• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and maintain professional customer service.

Class 1 Drivers Wanted – Chesterfield – great rates of pay – Immediate start

Looking for a reliable HGV Class 1 role with long-term prospects? We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer that supplies the construction sector nationwide, offering consistent work, excellent rates of pay, and immediate starts for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for transporting products to builders’ merchants, construction sites, and commercial customers across the country. Deliveries are well-planned and organised, providing drivers with a structured workload and efficient routes throughout the working week.

Drivers typically complete between 4 and 8 deliveries per shift using modern curtain-sided vehicles. Manual handling is kept to a minimum, with duties generally limited to opening and securing vehicle curtains during loading and unloading operations.

All drivers will be expected to conduct daily vehicle safety inspections, comply with transport and health & safety regulations, complete all relevant paperwork accurately, and deliver a professional level of service at every customer location.

Duration: This is a full time temp to perm opportunity

Contract Type: Permanent

Hourly Rate: Pay for this role is £18.05 per hour for all standard hours worked, enhanced overtime paid at £24.60 per hour after 40 hours.

Working Hours: Working hours are Monday to Friday with start times typically between 05:00 and 07:00.
