At WM Armstrong, we pride ourselves on our safe working environment, our excellent culture of teamwork and our strong family values.

We are currently looking for Class 1 Drivers to join our General Haulage team based in Preston. We currently have opportunities to work on dayshift - working either Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday, or nightshift - working either Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday.

In this role, you will deliver a professional and efficient LGV driving service, undertaking deliveries and collections of products on behalf of Wm Armstrong Group. You will comply with all relevant legislation including WTR and Drivers Hours Rules, load security, vehicle weights and dimensions and the Road Traffic Act, ensuring the safety of yourself and other road users at all times. You will also keep in regular contact with the office teams for updates on progress and managing customers expectations.

To be successful in this role you will be a real team player, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and good geographical knowledge. You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence, a current CPC card and digital tachograph card. Experience and knowledge of the haulage industry would be advantageous, but training may be available for the right candidate.

n return we offer: a full-time position, 40 hours per week working either dayshift or nightshift hours. The weekday dayshift hourly rate is £14.39* and the weekday nightshift hourly rate is £15.94*, with enhanced rates available for working weekend working.
