Job summary

Driver Hire York is assisting a Pocklington-based client in locating an experienced HGV Driver (Class 1) to deliver bulk liquids across the country. You will operate a modern unit, handle loading and discharging, and complete paperwork while performing daily safety checks.

Night out shifts Mon-Fri are required. This temp-to-perm role offers weekly PAYE payments, a minimum 8 hours pay per day (£16/hr), and additional benefits on transfer to the client.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 licence with no more than six points.
• Tachograph Card required.
• Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Good understanding of Driver Transport Legislation.
• Night Out availability Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

• Drive a modern unit and trailer to deliver bulk and multidrop products nationwide.
• Load tanker/trailer with product as required.
• Discharge product and complete relevant paperwork.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks.

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced HGV Driver (Class 1) to join their team based in Pocklington, working Monday Friday Days Nights Out will be required each week. Your role will be to safely and efficiently deliver their bulk liquid products to customers nationwide using a bulk liquid tanker or curtainside trailer. (no regular weekend work)

Expected duties:

• Driving a modern unit and trailer to deliver our bulk and multidrop products to customer sites nationwide.
• Loading the tanker/trailer with product as required.
• Discharging product and completing relevant paperwork.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks.
• Keeping the vehicle clean and tidy.
• Complying with all drivers hours and working time regulations.
• Following customer and company guidelines and processes.

Your skills/background :

• HGV Class 1 licence with no more than six points
• Tachograph Card
• Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
• Good understanding of Driver Transport Legislation
• Strong safety focus
• Night Out availability Mon-Fri
• Class 1 HGV Experience
• Tanker experience desirable
• Attention to detail and experience completing paperwork.
• Team Player
• Willingness to go above and beyond.

This is a Temp to Perm position, initially working through the agency and then transferring over to the client after 12 weeks. Through Driver Hire you can expect:
