Job summary

StaffCo Direct is recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers for ongoing trunking work in Derby. The role offers immediate starts and consistent weekly bookings across a well‑organised seven‑day operation.

Drivers will perform trunking with no handball, using modern equipment. Typical shifts run 10–12 hours with 8 hours guaranteed and PAYE rates from £17.73 to £38.68 per hour, with enhancements for weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 1 year.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph card required.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD, IN, or DR offences).
• Excellent knowledge of the UK road network.

Responsibilities

StaffCo Direct is recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Day and Night Drivers for ongoing trunking work based in Derby. We are offering consistent long-term work, immediate starts, and competitive PAYE rates within a well-organised 7-day operation.

Drivers will benefit from a straightforward trunking role with pre-loaded trailers, modern equipment, and no handball involved.

Pay Rates (PAYE):

• Monday - Friday AM: £17.73ph plus accrued holiday or, £19.87ph including holiday pay
• Monday - Friday PM: £20.95ph plus accrued holiday or, £23.47ph including holiday pay
• Overtime (after 9 hours) AM: £26.59ph
• Overtime (after 9 hours) PM: £29.81ph
• Saturday AM: £26.59ph
• Saturday PM: £29.81ph
• Sunday AM: £35.46ph
• Sunday PM: £38.68ph

What the role involves:

You will be completing trunking work between distribution centres with no handball required.

The operation runs 7 days per week, with shifts averaging 10-12 hours and 8 hours guaranteed per shift. Immediate starts are available with ongoing weekly bookings.

Our ideal candidate:

• Holds a valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 1 year
• Has a valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Has no more than 6 penalty points (no DD, IN, or DR offences)
• Excellent knowledge of the UK road network
