Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Driver to deliver goods to retail stores on routes including Inverness, Perth, Aberdeen and Dundee. You will operate curtain side and box trailers, complete 1–3 drops per shift, and secure loads for safe transit.

The role requires a UK Class 1 CE Licence, DCPC and Tachograph credentials, and a strong customer-service mindset. Ongoing training and development are provided; competitive pay and overtime options available.

Qualifications

• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience delivering to retail/commercial sites preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Use curtain side and box trailers on single and double deck trailers, to deliver goods to retail stores on assigned routes, which may include Inverness, Perth, Aberdeen or Dundee.
• Complete an average of 1 to 3 delivery drops per shift in line with schedule and route planning.
• Ensure all loads are safely and securely fastened using straps, nets, and other securing equipment to prevent movement or damage during transit.
• Manage tail lift deliveries, ensuring safe and efficient unloading at client sites.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport office to provide updates on delivery progress and respond to any changes or issues in real time.
• Represent the company professionally at every delivery point, ensuring excellent customer service and building strong relationships with store teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and development, including refresher courses and updates on industry regulations, to keep your skills sharp and compliant.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to retail or commercial sites (preferred but not essential).
• A strong focus on customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously.
• The ability to work to tight schedules while maintaining high safety standards.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently when required.
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.

Competitive Salary: £16.50 per hour, based on 10.25 hours per shift. PLUS for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.

Shift Hours: As above.

Overtime: Paid at an hourly rate. Rest day working paid.
