Job summary

GXO Logistics Supply Chain Inc. in Birmingham is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team, delivering for WHSmith on a full-time permanent basis. The role operates on an any 5 days from 7 pattern with a start window from 03:00 to 07:00, contracted to 45 hours per week.

The package includes an annual salary of £36,459 with a monthly bonus up to £480, overtime, generous leave, pension, healthcare and access to GXO University to support your career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential.
• Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement.
• Valid Driver Qualification Card and Digital Tachograph Cards.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
• DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multidrop deliveries to retail spaces while collecting returns from stores in line with operational requirements.
• Handle both palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures.
• Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by always being polite and courteous.
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time.
