Job summary

GI Group is seeking a Class 1 Driver for an internationally recognised client based in Stoke (ST5). The role offers a day rate per hour of £17.93 PAYE with advanced holiday pay. Shifts start between 12:00-16:00, Monday to Friday, with weekend work available and an average shift length of about 10 hours.

Main duties include vehicle checks, trunking to depots, and delivering to customers across the UK, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' Class 1 driving experience.
• CPC qualification and Tachograph card required.
• Smart appearance with strong attention to detail.

Operating across multiple countries, they're well known for their technology-led approach, strong customer service, and commitment to sustainability.

Class 1 shifts

• Start times between 12:00-16:00
• Monday - Friday - ongoing
• Weekend work available
• Average shift length: 10 hours

Pay & benefits (PAYE):

• Day rate (shift starts before 18:00): £17.93 per hour**PAYE rates include advanced holiday pay.

Main duties:

• Completing vehicle checks
• Trunking to depots and hubs (run details provided prior to each shift)
• Making deliveries safely to customers across the UK

Requirements:

• Smart, professional appearance, strong attention to detail, and a positive attitude
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD / IN / DR / DN / TT endorsements)
• Valid, in-date Tachograph card and CPC
• Strong customer service skills
• Minimum of 6 months' Class 1 driving experience
