Job summary

Driver Hire Carlisle is recruiting for multiple HGV class 1 drivers (CE) for TEMP-PERM with our established client in the Carlisle area. This role offers steady, ongoing work with the potential to become permanent after 12 weeks.

Shifts include days, nights, and tramping. Start times 06:00 for days and 18:00 for nights. Typical shifts run 10–12 hours with overtime after eight hours.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Category CE (Class 1) entitlement.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a HGV driver.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle, including RDC runs to various supermarkets.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure safety procedures.
• Shifts include days, nights, and tramping with start times 06:00 (days) and 18:00 (nights).
• Overtime paid after 8 hours.

DAYS , TRAMPING AND NIGHT SHIFTS AVAILABLE

The role involves operating a HGV Class 1 vehicle , doing RDC runs to various supermarkets . Handballing on some sites will be required

The Role for a HGV Driver:

• DAYS 06:00AM Start
• NIGHTS 18:00PM Stary
• Overtime paid after 8 hours
• Average shift lenght 10-12 hours
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks
• Immediate starts
• Representing both the client and Driver Hire Carlisle professionally

What You’ll Need:

• Full UK driving licence with Category CE (Class 1) entitlement
• Minimum 1 year experience
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Strong understanding of site safety and procedures
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude

This role is ideal for a HGV driver seeking stable, long‑term work with the possibility of Temp-perm after 12 weeks
